On July 19th at Fattoria del Colle, the members of the Judicial and the Promoting Committee of the International Casato Prime Donne awards had lunch in the "Boschetto", they opened the first bottle of Cenerentola Doc Orcia 2007, the first wine created by the wine maker Valerie Lavigne. With them there was also the journalist Giuliano Ferrara and his wife Anselma dell'Olio.

wine Enthusiast has published the Brunello di Montalcino rating. Ours have been classified among the best ones: 94/100 for the Riserva and 93/100 for the Brunello di Montalcino and the selection "Prime Donne".

Scottish wedding at Fattoria del Colle, where Katie Mitchell has celebrated her wedding with Andrew Smith. The groom and few of the guests wore the traditional Kilt while the bride, who, since long time ago began to spent her holidays at Fattoria del Colle with her family, was wearing a beautiful white dress made out of organdy and led by 2 bridesmaides.

Fattoria del Colle in  Trequanda launches together with Helle Poulsen its new cookery school where an old and enormous fireplace is a frame for the lessons  where one learns how to prepare “Zuppa di Trequanda”,  “Scottiglia” and  “Pinci al Sugo bugiardo della Valdichiana”.

The gastronomist Helle Poulsen, author together with her husband Alfredo Tesio of 11 books regarding Italian cuisine, launches the new cookery school at Fattoria del Colle in Trequanda on April 19th 2010.  A course for 13 students of three different nationalities among which are 6 Scandinavian guests who have travelled more than 2000 km by car so as not to miss Helle's lessons as the European airports were shut down because of the Iceland volcano’s ash cloud. The courses, called  “Italian cuisine with a Tuscan flavour”, take place in an old farmhouse with an enormous fireplace, around which are ovens, hobs, planetary mixers…. and modern furnishings. In fact a blend of tradition and up to the minute which actually corresponds perfectly with Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s philosophy. The owner of the 16th century Fattoria del Colle, accompanies the food prepared by the trainees with her splendid wines.

The first meeting of the all female panel which selects Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s Brunello Prime Donne, together with the new wine maker Valérie Lavigne took place on Tuesday March the 16th.

There has been a great enthusiasm for the perfect agreement between them. The result is a  “classic Brunello”, very elegant, a decidedly macho. During the tasting they have chosen the final blend uniting different future Brunellos 2006 coming from various vineyards and barrels. Now the “Project Prime Donne” is accomplished, and it is our first made only by women. This is something curious if you think about the recent survey by Wine News according to which 91% of wine lovers think that women who love red wines are very sexy.

Eckhard Supp’s web site, one of the most critical German wine voices, and where the best bottles from all over the world are commented, has attributed the maximum points, 5 stars, to Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s three Brunellos. An extraordinary result which emphasizes most of all the Brunello “Prime Donne” 2005 and the Riserva 2004. Supp knows Italian wines very well and speaks Italian fluently, he has dedicated an entire edition of his web magazine to Tuscan wines, following the events where every year during the month of February the new vintages of Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Brunello di Montalcino.
