WINERIES AND GREAT WINES

This weekend is dedicated to the great Tuscan wines, tasting them and learning how they are born. Two days immersed in nature, traditions and delicious pleasures.
FRIDAY:
- arrival on the estate , settle in to the apartments
- 6 pm aperitif in the historic cellar
- 8pm 4 course dinner matched with 3 wines by Donatella Cinelli Colombini.
SATURDAY:
Morning:
- 8,30-10 am breakfast with home baked cakes
- 10.00 am transfer with own car to Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino
- 10.30 am guided tour of the Casato Prime Donne winery where the Brunello barrels are alternated with frescoes regarding the Montalcino history
- 11.30 barrel tasting of Brunello in ageing, vertical tasting of 4 vintages of Brunello, followed by a light snack of pecorino cheese, Cinta Senese, and crostino nero toscano.
- we suggest the Prime Donne trail walk: a route through the Brunello vineyards to admire the pieces of contemporary art and the quotations left us by the winners of the Casato Prime Donne international award.
Afternoon:
- we advise a visit to Montalcino, with its 14th century fortress and its Brunello wine stores.
- we can help you organize an appointment to visit the wineries in Montepulciano, land where Vino Nobile is produced.
- walk through the historic centre in Montepulciano, the “16th century pearl”
Evening:
- 8,00 pm dinner in with traditional local dishes with 3 wines produced by Donatella Cinelli Colombini
SUNDAY:
Morning
- 8.30 – 10.00 am breakfast with home baked cakes
- 10.30 guided tour of Fattoria del Colle, the 16th century with the bedroom that once belonged to the Granduca Leopoldo di Toscana, the hermitage and the medieval tower upon which the fattoria was created, and the chapel called San Clemente.
- 11.00 am guided tour of the Fattoria del Colle vineyards, of the production and the ageing cellar, special because of it historic barrels and for its Vinsanto ageing area. Here the Chianti Superiore, the Cenerentola and the Leone Rosso are also produced, and it is possible to discover the secrets regarding vinification and barrel ageing.
- 11,30 tasting lesson regarding the Tuscan DOCG wines: Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and Morellino di Scansano
- 1 pm lunch at the Osteria di Donatella: 5 courses matched with Rosso di Montalcino and awarding of the diplomas.
