Those who believe that it is necessary to spend real fortunes to drink excellent wines, are wrong! Except for the real status symbols, the exclusive and legendary  wines, which unite extraordinary quality to a series of symbolic values so that the price  reach the sky … apart from those, for those who like to drink well, there are opportunities even among bottles that cost  10, 20 and 30 Dollars. And many of these are Italian.
Obviously it is not easy to find your way along the maze of thousands of brands but we get help from Wine Searcher, the British portal where the offer of  46,925 wine stores from all over the world merge. An unlimited archive from which you go and fish the bottles with the best rapport quality price for all pockets!

In the list of the best buys under 10$ the first is Pascal Toso Cabernet Sauvignon. You may say <<Gosh, And where can we get it? We can’t go to Argentina to get it, can we?>>. That is true,

Pascal Toso Cabernet Sauvignon

but in second position there is a lovely Italian bottle, Feudi di San Gregorio Ros’Aura Rosato 2012 , with a rating of 91/100 from the main  Wine Critics (Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, Decanter and others) on sale for the  public between  9 and 14$  so well under 10 euro. So is this not a good buy?
In the list of the best wines under 20$ shines a nice name from Montalcino, the splendid winery Argiano who is in first position with a Supertuscan with an intriguing name “Non Confunditur” Toscana IGT. The ratings given by the great experts are very high 93/100 but the price is really convenient, between 15 and 24$. Read more…

In a way the Tuscan Vineyard resembles a stage for successful women and men who have everything and who are maybe on the lookout for new emotions such as having their name on the label of a small wine treasure. Famous people with exceptional abilities who have availabilities of great capitals and great contacts. People who can increase the prestige and the myth of Tuscan wines as if the vineyard were the red carpet at the Oscars.
Tuscany has plenty but Montalcino is really full of super VIPS.
Starting from Brunello and the most recent arrivals: the newest is Soleya International Corporation from Panama although there is no face behind this society at the moment.
Andrè Santos Esteves, 45 years old, banker from Brazil, 329th richest man in the world and 14th in Brazil according to the Forbes list. He adores great wines and has seen in the splendid Argiano estate in Montalcino a type of Italian chateaux.
Alejandro Bulgheroni richest man in Argentina according to Forbes, his business is in gas and petrol but he spends lots of time in Italy where his wife lives. Maybe for this reason he has bought Dievole in Chianti Classico, Poggio Landi (just in front of my Casato Prime Donne) and Podere Brizio in Montalcino adding it to his vineyards in Mendoza in Argentina, Garzòn in Uruguay, California … Read more…

Next door to Casato Prime Donne a property has been bought by Alejandro Pedro Bulgheroni Argentinean billionaire from the petrol sector with investments al lover the world and vineyards in Argentina, Uruguay and California. We expect him to transform the present rural buildings, in front of us, into a villa with heliport.

The new owner of Argiano, still in the Brunello area, is a Brazilian indicated by Forbes as one of the 300 richest men in the world. He has fallen in love with the splendid 16th century villa built according to a project by Baldassarre Peruzzi – a sort of Tuscan Chateau – and with the noble history of this location where, among others, Foscolo, Carducci, D’Annunzio and Zolà have stayed. Glamorous, rural, traditional and new….. here’s Benvenuto Brunello 2013 in front of and behind the scenes

Benvenuto Brunello 2013 new generation producers

Young producers for Benvenuto Brunello 2013

Read for you by Donatella Cinelli Colombini

Certainly the 135 wineries present have brought some excellent Brunello 2008 which are immediately enjoyable. Some say that they are so good now that they will not age well, I am convinced that that is not true, and that these have been vinified better that in the past and so consequently will last decades, or event centuries.

I do not wish to talk about the wines, if not to say that mine – from Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino – have been liked by all (were you expecting me to say the contrary?)- instead I would like to tell you some curiosities. First of all the Gala party in the cloister in Sant’Agostino. 50 tables with a mirror surface and chandeliers one meter high in transparent Plexiglas. Tablecloths, serviettes, seat covers, water glasses and even the cutlery all black. In other words quite a Hollywood style that however gave a glamorous touch to our usual restrained Montalcino manner. Those present at Benvenuto Brunello for the first time actually goggled, like Federico Castellucci Direttore generale OIV who said << you have nothing to envy from the French, these evening is fantastic>> and then in a whisper –I was not expecting anything of this level, I wish to compliment you.!- Read more…
