Casato Prime Donne Award
The Casato Prime Donne award honours women, viticulture photography and journalism, and it gives recognition to those who divulge news regarding the Montalcino territory and its wines.
The main prize is given to a female figure distinguished in enhancing the role of women in society and in the working world. Among the winners are Kerry Kennedy, supporter of human rights, and the Cabrinian nuns of the first female missionary order, the voluntary workers of the Telefono Rosa association, working in aid of women who have been subjected to violence, the canoeist Josefa Idem, the virologist Ilaria Capua, and Samantha Cristoforetti the astronaut, all female protagonists who are of example or of help to other women.
The jury is made up of Francesca Colombini, president, together with, Rosy Bindi, Anselma Dell'Olio, Anna Pesenti, Stefania Rossini, Anna Scafuri, and Daniela Viglione.
