Donatella Cinelli Colombini celebrates Cantine Aperte on 25-26 May 2024 by offering wine lovers who come to her wineries two different and memorable experiences. Itinerant tastings inside and outside the cellars interspersed with stories, tastings of great Brunello and Orcia Doc wines paired with traditional food

Photographic safari in 5 stages with great Brunello wines and ancient flavours based on Tuscan bread with sourdough, such as Dante’s soup which recreates a dish from the 1300s, Cinta Senese and  Pecorino cheese.

At Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino two-hour experiences among nature and ancient flavours in front of works of art and breathtaking landscapes to photograph. Itinerary in 5 stages in the vineyards and inside the cellar to taste the future Brunello from the barrels and then go to the vineyards to photograph the landscape and photograph yourself tasting Rosso di Montalcino together with Tuscan DOP bread, strictly without salt, together with the very tasty salami obtained from medieval breed of pigs “Cinta Senese”. New stage of the journey in front of the frame for selfies and then in the fermentation room  where the Tuscan bread with sourdough is accompanied by seasoned Pecorino called “cacio” and Brunello 2019. In the tasting room, which is welcoming as if  part of Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s house, guests will find Dante’s soup which offers the flavours tasted by the great poet during his journey to Rome when he stopped in the Val d’Orcia area, in the year 1300 (purple carrots, black-eyed peas, chard and of course Tuscan bread with sourdough). The tasting will be accompanied by Brunello Riserva 2018.

Two hours of very intense experiences in nature and traditions: walk in the vineyard and in the woods with an environmental guide to discover the secrets of Tuscan wild herbs, visit to the vegetable garden with tasting of “condito” (tasty peasant snack based on vegetables) and Tuscan bread with sourdough accompanied by IGT Sanchimento partly produced in amphora just as in ancient times. Visit to the most beautiful parts of the sixteenth-century villa of the Fattoria del Colle: hall of coats of arms and kitchen with monumental fireplace, historic cellar with barrel room, vinsantaia and recently restored orciaia inside two concrete vats, where the two-hundred-year-old terracotta jars are preserved. Tasting of three extra virgin oils. The visit continues in the wine cellar with the special room that teaches how to “listen to the vineyards” and ends in the grove with the tasting of Dante’s soup recreated with the vegetables and bread that the poet enjoyed in this area during his journey to Rome. Pairing with the Orcia Cenerentola DOC and the Brunello di Montalcino DOC 2019.
