The traditional August appointment with great wine, this year is specifically dedicated to wine lovers with dogs.
At Casato Prime Donne di Montalcino, a winery celebrated for the excellence of its bottles but also for being the first in Italy with a staff of only women, the tourist’s welcoming is different from any other.
There are two Calici di Stelle appointments, always on Saturday. They will be on the 5th and 12th August starting at 4.30 pm on the theme “Wine and Music with 4-legged friends”

WINE AND MUSIC IN THE BRUNELLO VINEYARDS WITH 4-LEGGED FRIENDS
The program lasts a couple of hours and includes an itinerant tasting of 4 wines paired with 4 pieces of music specially selected by Igor Vazzaz, musician and sommelier. Welcoming also for dogs with bowl and kibble.
Exceptionally, the 4 wines – Chianti Superiore, Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino and Vin Santo – will be accompanied by small pairings with typical foods such as dried sausage, pecorino cheese and Sienese dry biscuits.
A particular role has been attributed to the 4 rooms that host the tastings: the entrance, the fermentation hall, the ageing cellar and the tasting room. The music, the wines and the places arouse truly intense suggestions and emotions. The itinerant tasting is associated with a stop in the fermentation room where Brunello is born and where there is a projection of painted images, sounds and voices that express the most authentic spirit of the village of Montalcino.
To be followed by trail through the vineyards of about 1.5 km (self-managed) following the map delivered in the cellar. This is the Prime Donne trail, enriched by contemporary works of art and phrases dictated by the winners of the Casato Prime Donne Award. A pleasant moment of relaxation and movement together with furry friends!
NIGHT TIME TASTING IN THE DOC ORCIA VINEYARD
Toscana Calici di stelle 2023 dog friendly at fattoria del Colle with tasting in the vineyards of Doc Orcia e Vin Santo
At the Fattoria del Colle in Trequanda only one appointment on Sunday 13 August at 10 pm. The Fattoria is like a small sixteenth-century hamlet that has miraculously remained intact for centuries. The experience includes a toast in the vineyard with a taste of Cenerentola Doc Orcia 2018 and an extraordinary Vin Santo accompanied by panforte, ricciarelli and cantucci. Also there will be excellent cheeses specifically chosen by Andrea Magi the selector and dairy refiner . Andrea ranked first among the Italians and second overall in the World Cheese Award 2022-23 among 4434 competitors from all over the world.
Pairings by affinity and by contrast between Cenerentola Doc Orcia 2018 (92/100 Suckling), a great Vin Santo selection 2008 (94/100 Vinous) and seasoned and blue cheeses with international awards, which will allow wine lovers to experience and extraordinary event under the stars.
For dogs there will be kibble and bowls of water. Those who want to continue the experience as a wine lover, at 11 pm, will be able to participate in the guided tour of the DOC Orcia and Chianti Superiore cellars. Included a visit to the multimedia room that teaches how to listen to the vineyards.
