CHIANTI SUPERIORE
The Superiore appellation indicates the Chianti coming from more suitable and less productive vineyards for which they give wines with better characteristics also in terms of shelf life. It is a “farm” Chianti Superiore or rather a “family wine” produced from the grapes from Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s vineyards at Fattoria del Colle. Vinified, aged and bottled in the same company with artisan care and with the expertise of the three winemakers of the cellar, Barbara, Sabrina and Giada.
BRUNELLO PRIME DONNE
Brunello Prime Donne was produced for the first time with the 1993 vintage and is part of the Prime Donne project for the enhancement of female talent in the oenological field. A panel of 4 very expert tasters taste the future Brunello blindfolded and in all phases of its life: as soon as it is born, in the barrel, in blending. The Group is made up of the Masters of Wine, Rosemary George and Madeleine Stenwreth, the wine expert Astrid Schwarz and the Sommelier Daniela Scrobogna. Their judgments guide the work of the winemakers of the Casato Prime Donne winery for the production of a Brunello with a “feminine taste” that is released only in good harvests and in small quantities
THE WINE SKIN AND THE CORKSCREW
Two useful gadgets for a trip where you’ll take a special bottle with you to open with relatives or friends. The wine skin is specially designed for the safe transport of wine bottles. Chianti Superiore DOCG 2020 in the glass
COLOUR: Bright ruby red.
BOUQUET: Vinous with references to Sangiovese must and violet. The hints of small ripe red fruits such as cherry, plum and blueberry add refinement to finish with some floral suggestions. The aromas are rich, clean, dark and complex.
TASTE: An excellent tannic and acidic architecture harmonizes with an abundant fruit in a perfect balance of exuberance, freshness and power. It is satisfying, fills the mouth with flavor and has a long and very pleasant finish.
Brunello di Montalcino Prime Donne 2018 and how to serve it
FOOD PAIRING: gastronomic wine that should be accompanied by important dishes such as large pieces of roasted meat, aged cheeses and game.
TABLE SERVICE: Room temperature (18-20°C). White crystal goblet glasses with large bowl. It is best to uncork the bottle an hour before serving and decant it, taking care to favour intense oxygenation
CELLARING: 20 years and beyond. Keep the bottles flat, in the dark and in the cold. Provide for the replacement of the cork in Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s winery when the liquid has gone down to the bottle shoulder (c. 2035)
