This is a curious friendship because Violante Cinelli Colombini was born and works in Montalcino, while Sofia Ruhne is Swedish but she too was brought up in Tuscany. Sofia was only seven years old when her family who were in the waterborne transport business when her parents Mats and Birgitta decided to buy their first vineyards in Tuscany.
Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti Classico are two fine red wines that have made Tuscany famous all over the world.  Two appellations that use the most representative variety in Tuscany, Sangiovese, creating wines of different territorial identity but both high quality wines with great cellaring ability.

The Ruhne family buys the estate called Terreno in Chianti Classico in 1988 but also the “The Winery Hotel” is part of the property and today they are both run by Sofia.  In this hotel situated in Stockholm guest can see all the phases of wine production thanks to the fresh grapes arriving from Tuscany. <<Sweden’s first combined urban winery and concept hotel >>. An innovative and very ambitious project who’s objective is to increase wine culture and the number of impassioned wine lovers in Sweden.

The friendship between Violante and Sofia comes from their passion for fine red wines. A friendship that has deepened because both believe in respect for the environment:  the Azienda Terreno produces only organic wines and those by Violante –from Fattoria del Colle and Casato Prime Donne are certified since 2018.…
