All Brunello wine is able to last in bottle for many years; the Brunello Riserva version is born for very long cellaring. Donatella Cinelli Colombini produces Brunello Riserva at Casato Prime Donne winery, in Montalcino, Tuscany, only in the best vintages, choosing by hand a small quantity of absolutely perfect Sangiovese grapes.

The grapes usually come from a specific vineyard called Ardita on the highest point of the vineyards around the estate.

Casato Prime Donne belonged to Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s ancestors already at the end of the 16th century. In the nineteenth century it was used as a hunting lodge and for honeymoons, and, for four centuries it has never been sold but has been passed down the line from one generation to another. Since 1998, the cellar became the first Italian winery staffed entirely by women; these include three wine makers, the cellar staff, the sales office staff and the hospitality team. Each year it is produced, the Brunello Riserva reaches International success by getting high ratings from the most important specialized international winepress, thanks to its quality.

This fine red wine has a ruby red colour that in time becomes garnet and in the glass the movement is slow thanks to the richness in noble components. A refined, complex aroma with balsamic and spicy hints as well as a net nuance of red berries, complete the elegant and persistent taste in the mouth. The robust tannic structure is perfectly balanced by the alcohol content and the fruit. The best food pairings are with aged cheese and important meat dishes, with a rich and intense taste.

Brunello di Montalcino is produced at Casato Prime Donne winery , where only Sangiovese vines are cultivated. Sangiovese is the grape grown in Montalcino, in Tuscany, for hundreds and maybe thousands of years. Thanks to the climate and the soil, it has taken on specific characteristics and gives a great red wine apt for a long ageing.

Casato Prime Donne, is a property made up of 40 hectares, where is possible to admire also beautiful ancient frescoes with works of contemporary Tuscan artists along the trail through the vineyards, in a special combination of art and wine. The tasting hall of the wine cellar houses the pictures of the ancestors of Donatella Cinelli Colombini, owners of the estate at the end of the 16th century, together with the winning pictures of the photographic section of the Casato Prime Donne Award, in a unique gallery regarding the Val d’Orcia and its wines.
This is a unique winery, where Donatella Cinelli Colombini and the entire female team worked in the vines and in the cellar to bring Brunello back to the original style of the 1970’s: elegant, vertical and with long ageing potential. A Brunello that is “identitary”, one that can tell about the varietal and the terroir, like the one that her grandfather, Giovanni Colombini, one of the pioneers in the Montalcino denomination was producing.
The grape harvest is made by hand during September and October . The vinification is done in small unlined concrete vats, open on top so that the punch down of the skins can be done without the use of pumps. All is carefully done, in a delicate manner and respectful of tradition and the character of the grapes. The wood ageing is done for more than two years in oak barrels, medium and large sized. The result is a very elegant Brunello, complex and harmonious, rich in aroma and very long lasting.
The best food pairing is with aged cheeses and noble meats.

Il Drago e le 8 Colombe is produced at Fattoria del Colle in Tuscany, South of Siena, in the Chianti and Doc Orcia wine areas.
A blend of three grape varieties which give different characteristic to the wine: the Sangiovese gives elegance, the Merlot pleasantness and the Sagrantino increases the structure. All the grapes are picked by hand and grown organic, vinified and aged in oak barrel separately to be assembled before bottling. After a period of rest the Il Drago e le 8 Colombe is bottled, where it refines for a further 6 month before being put on sale.

In the winery the staff are all women – together with Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino, these are the first in Italy with an all female staff – and Il Drago e le 8 Colombe wine was born to celebrate the only man in Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s wineries, her husband Carlo Gardini, in fact the doves you see on the label are all the women who work in the winery and the dragon is the only man who can influence the productive choices and is always present with his advice and his passion for great red wines.
With an intense and brilliant ruby red colour, a net, complex, and fine aroma full of hints of ripe red berries and exotic fruit, and with spicy components, it has a great structure at taste, full, harmonious and long lasting.
Il Drago e le 8 Colombe wine is apt for great occasions, and at the table it’s extraordinarily versatile and multi ethnic food, it goes well with Chinese and Indian dishes as with the more traditional Tuscan roasts.

Fattoria del Colle is a small sixteenth century hamlet which comprises an agriturismo divided into apartments, rooms and villas, three swimming pools, a tennis court, two restaurants, a cookery school, a spa and it has become a wine destination with daily wine tours and wine tastings.
This Tuscan farmhouse is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and gardens where tourists discover the charm of old noble dwellings and traditions of tuscan countryside.

Fattoria del Colle is a wine destination in Tuscany where Chianti Superiore and Orcia wines are produced. The farmhouse with apartments, rooms and villas for vacations, are furnished with authentic antiques and modern comforts. At Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino Donatella Cinelli Colombini produces Brunello wine.
This winery is composed of all female staff: from the vintners to the winemaker, a unique situation in Italy. In fact, once Donatella left her family’s estate to start her own in 1998, she needed a cellar master. She called the Enology School in Siena, asking for a good student to hire, but they answered that they had none. Cellar masters had to be booked years in advance, but they mentioned, however, that they had many female cellar masters available, since no important winery wanted to employ them. This way started the Prime Donne project in producing the Brunello which is selected by female tasters, who decide the composition and for how long to age it in barrels.
All the Brunellos are produced by 100% Sangiovese grape and are excellent wines apt for long ageing. Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is produced only in the best vintages with excellent quality, so it is the Brunello IOsonoDONATELLA wine, a masterpiece, something rare and exclusive.
While Rosso di Montalcino is a youger wine destined to be consumed sooner, perfect for the table.
Fattoria del Colle, is a farmhouse and winery in south of Chianti, where Donatella Cinelli Colombini produces Cenerentola Doc Orcia and Chianti Superiore.
The estate of 336 hectares, 17 of which are destinated to vineyards and 6 to olive groves, is surrounded by nature and Italy’s most beautiful countryside.
The small hamlet dates back to XVIth century and comprises apartments, rooms, villas, three swimming pools, a spa, a tennis court, parks and gardens, a winery and a restaurant which proposed typical tuscan dishes.

il volo della colomba è il protagonista della storia dipinta che un sofisticato sistema tecnologico fa apparire sui tini troncoconici, gioiellini enologici sormontati da follatori in acciaio. Essi sono stati utilizzati per la prima volta per la vendemmia 2016 del futuro Brunello
