During the past few days she has tasted 110 Brunello di Montalcino 2007 “selezione” and Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2006.
At the end her judgement has been positive and even enthusiastic for the whole Montalcino territory, which has been able to express itself at the highest levels for two consecutive years even though there have been some differences between the sub-zones.

Her description of the Brunello 2006 Riserva from Casato Prime Donne is immediate and obviously written on the spur of the moment.
Monica has noted her sensations. as in her style, using unusual comparisons, but these are able to clearly express what she felt <<It begins showing a dark colour, which is precious and generously saturated. On the nose hints of express coffee, beans, roasted chestnuts, and a generous deep amount of fruit. Lively acidity, direct straightforward on the palate. Profile ready and well defined, the tannins are clean.
