Where is wine consumed?
The USA is the first nation in the world for wine consumption with 3,7 billion bottles sold per year and a increase foreseen of 10% within 2015. The second nation in the list is Italy where however we are expecting a contraction in the sales of 2,7%. France, Germany and China follow.

The Asian giant has overtaken Great Britain in 2011 drinking 1,9 billion bottles and increasing by 33,4% consumption of sparkling and light wines.. This is in fact the novelty: China is guiding the new era of Bacco’s beverage and is aiming at an increase in consumption equal to 6,2% in three years at a worldwide level.
According to Vinexpo-International Wine & Spirit Research , in 2015 the present annual consumption of 31.680 million bottles will grow to 35 billion with sales moving out of Europe. A circumstance which will weaken the present market leadership of the old continent which today detains 62% of consumption.
France is, and will remain in the future the major exporter of wine also thanks to the extraordinary performance of the Bordeaux wineries in China. Italy is on the other hand first for amount of hectolitres exported.
