A super Rosé for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
The Miraval rosé by the most famous couple in Hollywood is among the first 100 in the world according to Wine Spectator. Produced in 100.000 bottles which cost 28$
One must say that they have a good nose, not only are they able to choose the best producers and screenplays, but also the best wine makers and vineyards. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, he’s 50 she is 38; they bought Chateau Miraval in Provence in 2008 costing 55 million dollars.
The property resembles a village with buildings in the typical Provence style. Insider there are 35 rooms, a wellness centre with Jacuzzi, indoor swimming pool, gym, a recoding studio that has been used by the Pink Floyd and by Sting. Outside swimming pools, fountains and lakes are surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, rigorously biological for a total of 400 hectares.
This is a very suggestive place for the actors and their 6 children. It seems in fact that
Angelina and Brad are really interested in wine production and that they have great ambitions so they are having the land mapped by the great expert Claude Bourguignon.
So even though Chateau Miraval has been producing wine for a long time, now it is aiming sky high. The wine maker Marc Perrin seems to have hit the target with the 2012 rosé which has obtained 90/100 in the Wine Spectator and a position in the most desired list in the world, the Top 100, where it results 84th. If we consider that Chateau d’Yquem is at 98th position, the wine maker can really be euphoric.Pitt and Jolie are known for their intense humanitarian activities where they also involve their wines. A few months ago one of their barriques was sold for 10.000€ to help a Congolese association.
Even though such a rapid success and with a rosé wine seems strange and seems to depend more from the fame of the two actors rather than the characteristics of the Rosé Miraval wine, the success obtained by such generous people such as Pitt and Jolie can only please us.
