💖 The story behind a label
Il Drago e le 8 Colombe was born from an emotion. Donatella wanted to pay homage to the male component of her family – first her husband Carlo Gardini, today her grandson Lorenzo – in an all-female winery. The 8 Colombe are the winemakers, cellarmen and collaborators: a growing team… so much so that the Colombe on the label could soon become more!
🍷 The Supertuscan with a double soul
Il Drago e le 8 Colombe is a “supertuscan” that is, an IGT Toscana wine that does not belong to any denomination but was born following the creativity of Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s oenologists. It is a blend of wines from three different grape varieties, vinified and aged in barrels separately and then assembled before bottling.
A signature blend: Sangiovese, Merlot, and Sagrantino
Maturation in artisanal oak barrels from 4 different French tonnelleries, selected to enhance each grape variety. After aging in wood and bottle, the wine is balanced, enveloping, ready to excite.
