CSI Crime Scene Investigation

CSI Crime Scene Investigation

The great wine from Montalcino again on TV with the 13th episode of the 13th series of Scene Investigation, with a story full of suspense called “In Vino Veritas”. This was the introduction <<While the team tries to solve a homicide case connected to prestigious wines, Mac Taylor arrives in Las Vegas from the New York police laboratory and discovers that his girlfriend has disappeared….>>. The episode was viewed in Italy last May 30th (mentioned by MontalcinoNews) and tells about a wine collector, the wine from Montalcino is part of the story and not only of this episode as the girlfriend of one of the investigators produces Brunello.

In other words Brunello is more and more on TV. Do you remember the Vodafone advert with he bear who calls his girlfriend from the wellness centre << hi Brunella, are you still in Montalcino >>?

In fact the great red Tuscan wine is often in advertisements for well equipped kitchen, luxury suitcases, crystal wine goblets…. it really is a symbol of Italian elegance recognized worldwide. Brunello is now a synonym for prestigious wine so it is usual to read phrases such as <<he can’t tell the difference between Tavernello and Brunello>> meaning  <<he doesn’t understand anything about wine>>.

In the end the myth of a wine, in the new millennium, is made also of such things.
