The Brunello 2007 begins its journey around the world with a rating of 94/100
Monica Larner, the very clever taster for the “Wine Enthusiast” magazine, is the first to have tasted and to have expressed her opinion 
regarding the Brunello 2007. Her opinion is very positive regarding the whole production, and in particular regarding ours. Here is the beginning of her article << The 2007 vintage of Brunello di Montalcino is a lovely expression of variety and territory—a true celebration of this austere yet sophisticated red wine from southern Tuscany. Wine Enthusiast Magazine was among the first to blind taste through the new vintage and found it to be indeed one of the most exciting vintages since the start of the millennium.

Following an intense tasting of some 250 wines at the local vintners’ association headquarters in Montalcino, W.E. awarded the 2007 vintage 95 points on our 100-point scale. The 2006 vintage earned 93 points last year, and both vintages were given a maximum five stars by the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino >>

The Brunello Casato Prime Donne obtains 94 points and is eleventh. The description is beautiful <<“Donatella Cinelli Colombini 2007 Brunello di Montalcino – opens with an intense, dark garnet colour. Shows lush softness and ripe blackberry fruit with perfumed notes of blue flower. plum cake and sweet spice. Feminine persona, but with power. Structured but with yielding tannins.>>.
Brief note, among the 50 Brunello chosen by Wine Enthusiast as best, only three have declared a price per bottle inferior to Casato Prime Donne. We hope that our effort to offer an excellent rapport quality –price be appreciated by the consumer and by the press.
