This year, Fattoria del Colle is hosting 17 weddings, all different and all beautiful.

Some are minimalist, others boasted spectacular floral arrangements and displays.

We’ve had couples with photographers and set designers, Instagrammers, videographers, and a whole repertoire of sun glasses, dresses, and decorations to create images to post online. Others asked for absolute privacy, even from their guests, to preserve the intimacy of the most beautiful day of their love.

 

WHY WEDDINGS AT FATTORIA DEL COLLE ARE ALL UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT

There are many ways to organize your wedding in a large venue with diverse and evocative spaces for the ceremony, aperitifs, dinner, cake cutting, and the closing party. At Fattoria del Colle, all couples have left happy and feeling like they’ve experienced a unique moment, uniquely theirs and unlike any other.

Of course, there are some places no one wants to miss out on, like the panoramic terrace above the winery. The Corten railing, reminiscent of the oak trees of the Val d’Orcia, frames a landscape of extraordinary beauty, and all newlyweds choose it for the ceremony or aperitifs. Another must-have, no one wants to miss out on, is the barn, restored a few years ago. The large windows feature state-of-the-art glass that keeps out sound, so you can dance until the wee hours without disturbing anyone. The light fountains, the harmonious architecture, the bar tender counter and the perfect air conditioning complete a very Tuscan atmosphere but perfect for parties.

 

IN EVERY WEDDING, THERE ARE THINGS THAT ARE REPEATED AND OTHERS THAT CHANGE CREATIVELY.

The rest of the wedding varies for each couple. Typically, the bride and groom and their guests stay four days. They often celebrate with a barbecue and pizza dinner in addition to the wedding reception, but some ask for a picnic around the pools, some organize games, and some want desserts and ice cream. They are almost all Scandinavian and drink heavily, although they love the rituals, so they have a toastmaster preside over the toasts and speeches.

I’ll focus here on the new features for 2026, hoping they’ll surprise you as they surprised us.

On the driveway that runs through the farm, it’s possible to set an imperial table for 100 people under strings of lights hung crosswise overhead, almost creating a starry sky.

 

NEW FOR 2026: WHAT THE COUPLES TO BE WED WANT

Last year, we had oak-coloured tables mounted on small central trestles so as not to impede the diners’ legs. The result is a beautiful wooden table, but we didn’t expect some of the newlyweds to use it without a tablecloth or even without individual place-mats. So, we placed the crystal chargers on the wood, as well as the beautiful, long central flowering vine. Luckily, the newlyweds didn’t want silver candlesticks, because removing the wax from the table would have been a real hassle.

The final effect was a blend of rustic simplicity and refined elegance.

Another new trend for 2026 is the end of monumental wedding cakes and cake design. Couples are asking for simpler, more traditional, and possibly homemade cakes. The photos are less dramatic, but the flavour is more Tuscan. After dinner, however, there’s an old-fashioned ritual that seems to be enjoying a second lease of life: the pyramid of glasses into which sparkling wine is poured for the toast. Between you and I , I don’t like it, but when we tried to eliminate it, the couple specifically asked for it. Maybe they saw it in their parents’ wedding photos, or maybe it makes them feel cheerful. No one really understands it, but the wedding couples love it.
