ROSA DI TETTO 2024 IGT TOSCANA ROSATO BIOLOGICO-ORGANIC
ROSA DI TETTO 2024 MARKS A RETURN TO THE OLDEST TUSCAN TRADITION OF ROSE’ WINE, THAT OF THE COLOURFUL WINES THAT FARMERS MADE IN SECRET
Rosé wines intense enough to accompany the entire meal and soft enough to be drunk cold.
Fattoria del Colle has been producing rosé wines for over forty years but in 2024, for the first time, part of the grapes for this wine come from the Montalcino vineyards of Casato Prime Donne. A circumstance that gives greater structure to the Rosa di Tetto.
ROSA DI TETTO IGT TOSCANA
The choice to produce a more structured rosé stems from the international success of this type and the demand for rosés with greater personality and aging capacity. A change that coincided with a return to the origins, inspired by the “acquati” produced by Tuscan farmers since time immemorial. Those of a century ago were fragrant but poor-quality rosés obtained by stealing a part of the must at the beginning of fermentation or by refermenting the marc. They were therefore poor wines.
Today there is a precise desire to seek out wines of high quality and great elegance. The Rosa di Tetto 2024 belongs to this typology to which it combines great oenology with a touch of Tuscan tradition already evident in the onion skin colour. This characteristic derives from a prolonged contact between the skins and the must which transfers the typical notes of Sangiovese and a more intense colour to the wine. The 2024 harvest was abundant and of excellent quality with perfectly ripe and healthy grapes. Donatella Cinelli Colombini‘s vineyards are cultivated organically and with enormous commitment.

CLIMATE TREND Winter and spring with temperatures above seasonal averages and frequent rains. Very hot July and August with daytime temperatures around 37°C that dropped to 22°C at night. From that moment on, the slow and regular ripening of the grapes began.
HARVEST: September 18, grapes harvested by hand, choosing the ripest bunches that, upon arrival at the cellar, were selected by the optical reader.
VINIFICATION: The grapes, cooled with dry ice and destemmed, were pressed and transferred to steel vats at a temperature of 4/6°C. After 24 hours the must was separated from the skins and transferred to a smaller container where the selected Sangiovese yeasts were inoculated. During the alcoholic fermentation, which lasted about 20 days, the temperature was maintained at 18°C until the sugars were completely exhausted.
