TOURIST HARVEST 2024 WITH TASTINGS, EXPERIENCES AND DINNERS

In the land of Brunello, Chianti Superiore and Doc Orcia for an experience that lovers of Sangiovese and great Tuscan wines cannot miss.
Four days full of different and interesting experiences in the vineyards, in the cellar and in the tasting room. At the end, participants will receive a certificate demonstrating their growth in knowledge of the great Sangiovese-based Tuscan wines.
THE TOURIST HARVEST AS A FUN AND EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE
It doesn’t matter if you are an expert, the program will be fun and capable of interesting both great wine lovers and beginners.
Participants will stay at Fattoria del Colle, a small hamlet with 400 years of history. There are apartments and rooms, 3 swimming pools, a restaurant and of course the winery. Surrounding is a wonderful landscape of vineyards and olive groves. In addition to this farm Donatella Cinelli Colombini owns Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino with the vineyards and cellar that produce Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino. Donatella’s wines are produced in small exclusive series, exported to 44 countries and ten of them have been awarded scores above 90/100 in the international press.
TASTING THE GRAPES, THE MUST AND THEN THE WINE
The 2024 tourist harvest program includes tasting the grapes to learn the level of ripeness and the days left until harvesting. Participants will pick the grapes and understand how to select the more or less ready bunches. They will taste the must trying to understand the level of transformation from sweet juice to wine.
There will be two tastings: the vertical tasting of Brunello starting from the barrel to arrive at the important Riserva and also the horizontal tasting of wines from the same year but of different types. Finally, participants will try to make their own Super Tuscan using wines from different vines born in the same year.
ALSO PHOTOS AND PAIRING WITH LOCAL FOOD
There will be a photographic safari in the vineyards and panoramic points and a tasting dinner with 4 wines and four typical dishes paired with them. This experience is beautiful and important because Tuscan wines are “gastronomic”, that is, they are created to accompany food and tasting them with the most traditional dishes of the area in which they are produced is useful to understanding them deeply.
Small, really small lesson on the history of wine in Tuscany which serves to understand the current geography of regional production. For the rest, the experiences will be fun even if the viticulture and oenology contents will come from highly experienced, graduate oenologists.
