First day of the fair in Verona with loads of people, many from Asia, many journalists and many operators with a renewed interest in Tuscany.
Pavilions brimming over with guests on Sunday the first day of the Vinitaly 2012 fair, that this year has changed calendar and begins in fact on a Sunday. Enough people to fill s stadium, which has diluted the commercial contact but which has created an exhilarating atmosphere and prepared the producers for great results. During the inauguration ceremony, in front of the entire Italian wine world the Minister Mario Catania spoke freely, listing all of his convictions: more resources for promotion abroad, a definite no to liberalising planting rights, distinguishing clearly the actions for a responsible consumption of wine form the campaigns against alcoholism. Practically a clear introduction without impossible promises and full of punctual references.
Among those who received the Cangrande award for recognition in the wine and wine world Chiara Lungarotti for Umbria, Giancarlo Fino for Puglia and
Leonardo Romanelli for Tuscany.
Our stand is blue with our bottles in small alcoves in the wall and an enormous logo on the back wall. Very well visible on the shelf is the Premio Internazionale Vinitaly award received on Saturday. It is the protagonist of the interviews, and it is the one who attracts importers and operators. Everybody wants to see it and touch it, and photograph it.
At the Enoteca Italiana di Siena stand there are very many people and brochure for the project “Vino e giovani – wine in moderation “ 2012 for the video contest for unpublished videos regarding wine.
In the Consorzio del Brunellothere are also novelties: the “kit del formatore” a metal case containing everything necessary for the course regarding the Montalcino wines to be carried out in
China: maps, brochures, videos in Chinese, glasses designed for Brunello, diplomas, and soil form Montalcino in 8 transparent containers.
