It’s this web that created great embarrassment for Francesco Rutelli when he launched the first version. Basically after 8 years and 30 million Euros spent we still have a web site with odd contents, badly translated, not at all easy to surf and most of all not at all orientated towards the client. An example?

Those of us here in Montalcino are waiting for thousands of tourists from all over the world thanks to this exceptional web site! In the section dedicated to

Tuscan farmohouse - Fattoria del Colle - Crete Senesi e Val d'Orcia Siena - apartments, villas and bedrooms

Tuscan farmohouse - Fattoria del Colle - Crete Senesi e Val d'Orcia Siena - apartments, villas and bedrooms

wine tourism there are no descriptions of the territories with vineyards but there is a link to the Federdoc web site which with its rules, regulations etc will surely attract even the complete teetotallers for sure!

And try and look in www.italia.it for the small municipality of Trequanda where Fattoria del Colle is found and you will discover that even the search system doesn’t work! For the companies in the large cities the damage is smaller, but for those in the villages, we have just disappeared.
You would think that this was a nation where tourism doesn’t count very much! Here the tourism business is worth about 50 billion Euro .
In Italy we have more than one million hotel rooms, more than 100.000 restaurants.

A week ago the Consiglio di Stato has cancelled the 2010 search for the company to create the new web site. annulled the 2010 competitive public tender for the new web site. In other words maybe it’s the right time, maybe Ministro Piero Gnudi will succeed in giving the job to people who are not “recommended” and that are very competent. Go on Mr minister, you can do it!
