Power and slandering or the power of slandering
Every time that in Montalcino elections are to take place in the Consorzio del Brunello the two-tongued and wicked come back into action
Two years ago an anonymous letter was sent around where I was portrayed as a shady person. The elections for the Board of the Consorzio del Brunello were about to take place, just as today we must elect the successor for President of the Consorzio Ezio Rivella, who has submitted his resignation. And bang on time the slanderers are back. This time they don’t write but talk. This time according to them I have made a hidden pact, secretly promising to change the statute.
Speaking frankly this slanderers disgust me. Montalcino need honest people who talk about what they do and it doesn’t need meddlers who simile in front and slander behind your back.
For this reason I would like my friends, mi colleagues and my fellow countrymen to know what I think and I what I intend to do.
I am against changing the statute and any other changes in the rules for Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino.
There is a clear vote from the Assembly regarding the use of pure Sangiovese and the wine producers’ will must be respected. In the same way I feel that changing the statute would set off a conflict among the smaller and larger estates pre-empting the union of intents which is necessary to create great projects in the future.
It would be a mortal conflict for Brunello because a small de nomination like ours wins over the world’s colossuses, our competitors, only if we are united.
Do you know what hurts the most? That against slanderers people like me are disarmed until they slander back. Maybe it’s time for me to begin
