Casato Prime Donne Award incubator of TOP young talents

The Casato Prime Donne 2022 Award adds to the previous activities that of incubator for future leaders. Here is the selection for pastry chefs and goldsmiths

Communicators, goldsmiths, pastry chefs, language and agriculture students under 30 years of age will be involved in the Casato Prime Donne Award by carrying out training experiences, receiving visibility or stimuli capable of motivating them and opening up new professional and human horizons for them.
The project includes collaborations with the University of Siena – Department of Communication Sciences and with two Sienese schools. At the same time, two small competitions are held for the selection of the best young talents in the goldsmith and pastry fields.

 

SELECTION OF THE BEST YOUNG PASTRY CHEF FROM TUSCANY

The best young pastry chef will be chosen by a jury composed of the gastronomy journalist Marzia Morganti, Helle Poulsen Tesio, author of 16 books on Italian cuisine and the chef Doriana Marchi from Fattoria del Colle. To compete, you must be under 30 years of age and have been residing in Tuscany for at least 5 years. You need to create a new cake dedicated to women and send the photo of the cake with the recipe (without the doses of the ingredients) to info@cinellicolombini.it by May 30th  along with some biographical notes. The chosen pastry chef will make the cake (or the cakes) for 80 people which will be served in the occasion of the award giving  ceremony on September 17th. Obviously, the cake will be paid for, the recipe will remain secret (subject to his/her authorization) and the young pastry chef will enjoy national visibility thanks to the photos and the social and traditional communication linked to the prize.

 

SELECTION OF THE BEST YOUNG GOLDSMITH OR GOLDSMITH OF TUSCANY

The best goldsmith will instead be chosen by the jury members of the Casato Prime Donne Award and by Donatella Cinelli Colombini who, for years, studied medieval gold-smithery. To compete, you must be under 30 years of age and have been residing in Tuscany for at least 5 years. It is necessary to design an unpublished women’s jewel that has an execution cost (raw material + labour) of less than € 300 + VAT, photograph it and send the image and description to info@cinellicolombini.it by 30th  May together with your  CV. The young goldsmith selected will deliver the jewels to the jury and the winner during the award ceremony on Saturday 17th  September in Montalcino and will have national visibility thanks to the photos and communication of the Casato Prime Donne Award on digital, radio, television and journalistic media.

 

THE CASATO PRIME DONNE AWARD 2022

The Award has reached its 22nd edition and will conclude the next edition with a ceremony at the Astrusi Theatre in Montalcino on Saturday 17th September.

After two years of standstill, caused by covid, it starts again and expands its goals. Alongside the designation of the PRIMA DONNA as a symbol of a femininity that looks to the future facing new challenges, and two awards for journalism, the Casato Prime Donne Award becomes an incubator for young talents. It will give new motivations and new stimuli to the students of Montalcino and southern Tuscany who will be involved in the preparation and conducting of the awards ceremony.

 

THE JURY OF THE CASATO PRIME DONNE AWARD

The Jury is made up of Donatella Cinelli Colombini, Rosy Bindi (former minister, expert in health policies) Anselma Dell ‘Olio (journalist, author and film critic), Anna Pesenti (food and wine journalist) Stefania Rossini (culture and society journalist) Anna Scafuri (television journalist) Daniela Viglione (teacher and economic journalist). They are joined by the Mayor of Montalcino and President of the Province of Siena Silvio Franceschelli and the President of the Consorzio del Brunello Fabrizio Bindocci.

 

THE PRIME DONNE PROJECT WITH THE CELLAR, THE BRUNELLO AND THE TRAIL

The Prime Donne Award is part of the “Prime Donne Project” aimed at enhancing female talent in wine and in society. The Casato Prime Donne winery, the first in Italy with an entirely female staff, is part of this project. The Brunello Prime Donne selected by a panel of 4 international tasters and the “The Prime Donne trail, ” which is a meditative itinerary with the dedications of the winners of the Award and the works of art by Tuscan artists: Marco Pignattai, Rossana Mulinari, Bruno Bruchi and Giovanni Senatore , Alessandro Grazi, Orlando Orlandini, Stefano Carlucci, Jeff Shapiro, Liberatori & Romualdi Architetti Associati, Michael Austin Latka, Carlotta, Giuditta and Annibale Parisi, Piero Sbarluzzi, Igor Vazzaz, Roberto Turchi, Alessia Bernardeschi, Elisa Boldi and Elisabetta Rogai. This itinerary constitutes the permanent part of the prize that every visitor can appreciate in Montalcino in the Casato Prime Donne winery and in the surrounding vineyards.
During its first 21 years of life, the Casato Prime Donne Award contributed to the fame of Montalcino by enhancing the best articles, radio and television programs and photographic shots of the territory, the people and above all the Brunello. The protagonist of each edition has always been a woman capable of standing out and being a positive example for other women in research, in the professional world and in civil society.
